The meeting will take place at the Prospect Firehouse, 26 New Haven Road. The second phase will go from Nicholas Court to Maria Hotchkiss Road, Mayor Robert Chatfield said.
This is a federal and state program, with the federal government paying 80 percent and the state, 20 percent, he said. This project has been in the works since 1976.
In the first phase, Scott Road was rebuilt from the Waterbury-Prospect line to Nicholas Court. It involved widening Scott Road to 28 feet, and drainage basins and curbing were installed. Additionally, it opened up Austin Road to the Waterbury line, which included extending Scott Road about 260 feet north through brush to Austin Road in Waterbury.
The third phase will continue from Maria Hotchkiss Road to the intersection of Route 69. Also, the traffic light at the intersection will be modified to improve safety and facilitate turning movements.
