Update: Police release pictures from McDonalds robbery

NAUGATUCK — A lone suspect robbed the McDonald’s on New Haven Road during the early hours this morning.

Police reported that shortly before 3 a.m., a man climbed through the unlocked drive-thru window, which is open 24 hours, at the McDonald’s located at 751 New Haven Road. Police said the suspect held a knife one of the employee’s throat. The suspect then led the employee to the back office where he proceeded to take cash and change out of the safe.

No employees were injured, police said.

The suspect then fled, leaving through the same drive through window he entered, police said.

The suspect was described as black or Hispanic, between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall with a thin build. The suspect was wearing dark pants, a gray long sleeve shirt with a black short sleeve tee shirt over it. The male had on a black cap with a cloth tied over his face and was also wearing white basketball style sneakers.

Police said there was no information given on the description of the suspect’s vehicle or which direction he went after the robbery.
