Since the publication of this article, Armando Salvador applied for, and was granted, a pardon in January 2020 for a misdemeanor assault conviction. As a result of the pardon, the conviction has been dismissed.

NAUGATUCK — Police have arrested a 34-year-old Naugatuck man in connection with a late-night stabbing on Union City Road.

Armando Salvador, of 202 Union City Road, was charged Friday with assault in the first degree and reckless endangerment as part of an ongoing investigation into the incident.

Police responded to the area of 202 Union City Road at about 2 a.m. Friday on a report of a man with stab wounds. The victim was located in the home at 202 Union City Road and taken to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

The preliminary investigation indicates the stabbing occurred during an altercation between two individuals at the home, police said. Salvador was arraigned at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $350,000 bond.

The incident remains under investigation by Naugatuck police and officers from the Connecticut State Police Major Crimes unit. No further details were released as of this post.
