PROSPECT — Prospect Public Library will feature the artwork of abstract artist Dana LaMontagne in November.

LaMontagne, a Bristol resident, is a self-taught artist. She began painting around 2009 when she worked as an interior painter for the facilities department at the University of Connecticut Law School in Hartford, a news release stated. She began experimenting with mixed media and abstract expressionism. After a three-year hiatus from painting, she began experimenting with new application techniques in 2017. This month’s exhibit features artwork LaMontagne completed over the past two years.

The library is hosting a reception on Saturday from 12 to 2 p.m. to celebrate the opening of her exhibit. The exhibit can be viewed at the library, 17 Center St., during normal hours. For information, call 203-758-3001.
