PROSPECT — The Prospect Public Library will feature an animal portrait and landscape exhibit by artists Pam Blasavage and Carole Abbate in December.

Abbate, a landscape artist, has been painting for over 35 years and studied under Stan Miller in the early 1980s. She works in acrylic, oil, pastel and watercolor. Blasavage, an animal portrait artist, is mostly self-taught. A deep involvement with animals, especially horses, from a very young age compelled her to draw and paint them, which evolved into a business.

The library will host a reception Dec. 7 from 12 to 2 p.m. to celebrate the opening of the exhibit. The exhibit can be viewed at the library, 17 Center St., during normal hours. For information, call 203-758-3001.
