Letter: Resident criticizes governor’s comments on NRA

To the editor,

Recently, Gov. Dannel Malloy likened the National Rifle Association and its members to a terrorist organization. He would also like to strike the NRA name from all Connecticut statutes. The NRA and its members are patriotic, law-abiding citizens, consisting of male and female, young and old, all races and occupations. The NRA supports the rule of law, law enforcement, the military and safe responsible use of firearms in defense of self and state. The NRA sets the gold standard for its training programs for safety. It defends freedom, individual liberty and the Constitution.

The NRA wants solutions to problems that actually work. Malloy on the other hand wants the end of the death penalty, early release of prisoners, driver’s licenses for illegals, in-state tuition rates for the children of illegal immigrants, supports sanctuary cities, and appoints soft-on-crime judges. He does not want due process for people merely accused of violent tendencies.

So, I would like to strike Gov. Malloy’s name from all public records, except that he might escape all responsibility for the mess he has made in the state.                                                                                    Mike Santangelo
