Letter: More needs to be done to identify refugees

To the editor,

Are we to believe the reports that about 90 percent of the claimed political refugees from Syria are not even Syrians?

It is purported, by the UK and others, that they are fleeing from other countries as evading criminals or others simply trying to avoid problems as slight as getting away from financial situations, parental responsibilities or even unwanted wives. They are reported as fleeing with no form of proper identification. The accepting countries have no idea where they are really from.
And now we are planning to accept thousands as a humanitarian effort.

We are out of our minds?
