To the editor,

Beacon Falls Public Library staff thanks the Friends of Beacon Falls Library for sponsoring the recent Nature Nick program when approximately 200 attendees met a kangaroo and spider monkey and more.

Friends also provided the gift cards for the grade six to 12 summer reading drawings. Family passes to area destinations, purchased by FoBFL, are saving local families many dollars while providing much needed fun. The Friends helped make July a fantastic month for Beacon Falls families. Please consider becoming a member during their fall membership drive to show how much you appreciate all they do for the library and our community.

As school gets closer, be on the lookout in the Aug. 28 Beacon Falls edition of Citizen’s News for the next library newsletter, which will have details about a very full line-up of adult programming. A back-to-school brunch is offered on the first day of school for parents to celebrate the end of summer vacation. Other September programs include a Sleep Pillow workshop, a wine glass painting class, an author visit by Nancy Manning, a Fast, Easy, and Healthy cooking class, and the start of our Tracing Your Family Tree genealogy series. You can find out more about all of these programs and the upcoming LEGO robotics series for grades four to eight at the library’s booth at St. Michael Church’s Four Seasons Fair. Hope to see you there and at the library.
