To the editor,

On behalf of my brother and sister-in-law, Glen Mitchell and Kristina Caponera Mitchell, Moe’s Auto Service and the Kacey Rose Foundation, a special heartfelt thank you to my fellow bikers and second family. What a beautiful day and ride in honor of such a beautiful little girl. All I can say is thank you to all who were a part of the 6th annual KRF Bike Ride. It was a huge success based on teamwork (together we raised $2,400) from a small group of people with big hearts. Special thanks to Anne Ensminger Dow, Hettylou Dow and Robert Dow of Mr. D’s Tavern for allowing us to literally take over Mr. D’s Tavern for the day. Special thank you to the Naugatuck and Middlebury police departments for your safe escort during the bike run, especially Naugatuck Officer Tavares and company.

To all my road captains, Michael Rosa, Matt Lango, amazing job. Keith Grandpre and Cheryl Coon Grandpre, thank you both for being our emergency tow vehicle in case of a rider breakdown. Special thank you to our very own Mrs. Connecticut America Allyson Genovese for also helping the morning of the ride and for taking time from your busy schedule to be there for us.

Big Steve Hayden, Scott Childs and Ray Ray fantastic job with the food. Thank you to all that took the time to cook and donate food. My right-hand man Jimmy Rillstone for helping me lead another beautiful ride. Thank you to my wonderful wife Kimberly Mitchell Shira for all your love and support.

Thank you to our local businesses for their generosity: John Migliore of 66 Church, Naugatuck Big Y, Naugatuck Stop & Shop, Knights Power Equipment in Orange, The Milestone Inn, Nancy Palmer, Black Cat Vintage, Janie Doe, James Bartone of Longhorn Steakhouse, K. Salon in Naugatuck, Nancy Walsh Hufnagel of Glass Act, Naugatuck Auto Zone, Michael Schmitt of Naugatuck Napa, Richard Rioux of Matco Tools. Last but not least, my staff at Moe’s Auto for having my back and for all the help during the last few weeks of craziness at work.

Thank you to all our volunteers, Dan Luccia, Paula and your beautifully crafted jewelry in Kacey’s honor, Padre Mike — the blessing of the bikers before the ride is tremendously appreciated — my mom, Ferida Shira and Billy Berardi. Thank you Tim & Pig-Fish Band for your generosity. Our volunteers are the backbone that keep us moving behind the scenes. If I missed anyone, I do apologize. Thank you all.
