NAUGATUCK — State representatives Rosa Rebimbas (R-70) and David Labriola (R-131) volunteered as Salvation Army bell ringers last Thursday to raise money for local families in need during the holiday season.

Rebimbas and Labriola collected hundreds of donations over the span of one hour outside the Naugatuck Walmart. The store will match their collection dollar-for-dollar, with all of the money going directly to the Salvation Army, according to a news release.

“I wish to thank the hundreds of residents who stopped by to offer their donations and season’s greetings,” said Rebimbas in the release. “I’m so pleased we could offer help to local families in need during the holidays.”

“I am grateful for the outpouring of support and generosity we received from local residents,” added Labriola in the release. “These donations will make a big difference in our community.”
