Legislative proposals get public hearings

HARTFORD — The Transportation Committee will hold public hearings on two pieces of legislation introduced by state Rep. Lezlye Zupkus, R-Prospect, Monday at 11 a.m. in Room 1E of the Legislative Office Building.

H.B. 5179, An Act Concerning the Length of Reports of Motor Vehicle Accidents, aims to reduce the workload of police and expenses by shortening the standard motor vehicle accident report form.

H.B. 5183, An Act Concerning the Number of Removable Windshield Placards that May Be Issued, looks to permit a blind person or person with disabilities to obtain two removable windshield placards if a person owns two motor vehicles.

Zupkus said those interested in submitting testimony can email the Transportation Committee at tratestimony@cga.ct.gov and copy her email address, Lezlye.Zupkus@housegop.ct.gov, on the submission.
