PROSPECT — The Prospect Land Trust will dedicate memorials to Frank “Bud” Doyle on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the beginning of a new hiking trail on the Boardman Drive cul de sac.
A bench, a kiosk, and a sign marking the entrance to the new property of the Land Trust known as Kathan Woods will be dedicated. Bud Doyle was born on Oct. 6, 1920, and died on April 10, 2010, and was well known in town as “Farmer Doyle.”
Participating in the program will be members of the Doyle family, his widow Rosemary Doyle, daughter Marjorie Doyle Devaney, and son Peter Doyle, a life member of the Land Trust.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will immediately precede the dedication, accepting the donation of 64.8 acres from the Rev. Boardman Kathan to the Land Trust. Following the brief program will be a Trails Day hike on the new Land Trust property.
