Kennedy joins board of borough bank

NAUGATUCK — Kevin Kennedy has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Naugatuck Valley Financial Corporation and Naugatuck Valley Savings and Loan.

“I look forward to working with Naugatuck Valley’s Directors and employees to continue to expand Naugatuck Valley’s mission of being a community bank committed to the highest possible degree of customer satisfaction, shareholder value and community dedication,”. Kennedy said in a prepared release.

Kennedy graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1991 as an accounting major with a Bachelor of Science Degree in business. He began Kennedy Wealth and Tax Management in 1995, a firm specializing in tax and wealth management advisory services. In addition to earning his Certified Public Accountant distinction, Kennedy also holds several securities and insurance licenses.

Prior to opening his own firm, Kennedy was a senior staff accountant at T.M. Byxbee company. He is active in the community and is a volunteer coach with the Northwestern Connecticut Youth Hockey and Shepaug Baseball Leagues.

Kennedy along with Batista and fellow Board Members John Roman, James Mengacci, Richard Famiglietti, Jane Walsh, Camilo Vieira, and Frederick Dlugokecki are responsible for governing the operations of Naugatuck Valley Financial Corporation and Naugatuck Valley Savings and Loan.

Naugatuck Valley Savings and Loan, a federally chartered savings bank, currently has 10 offices in eight towns including Naugatuck and Beacon Falls.
