PROSPECT — The Connecticut Independent Party has endorsed Republican state Rep. Lezlye Zupkus for state representative in the 89th House District.
Zupkus will appear on both the Republican and Independent ballot lines on Election Day.
“I’m proud to be endorsed by both the Republican and Independent parties and I look forward to serving the residents of Bethany, Cheshire and Prospect,” said Zupkus in a press release. “The Independent Party believes in my approach that public policy is not about politics but about making positive meaningful change, something that Hartford has failed to deliver. I will continue to make the interests of my constituents my number one priority.”
Zupkus, a Prospect resident, is completing her first term as state representative. Prospect resident Vickie Nardello, a Democrat who previously held the seat, is challenging Zupkus.
