NAUGATUCK — The Naugatuck Historical Society is teaming up with Mountview Plaza Wines & Liquors to host a savory event.

Savor Connecticut will combine a history of local vineyards with a wine and beer sampling.

Eric Lehman and Amy Nawrocki, authors of “A History of Connecticut Wine, Vineyard in Your Backyard,” will discuss the history of Connecticut’s vineyards, which traces back to the colonial days. Dr. Paul DiGrazia founder of DiGrazia Vineyards in Brookfield will be offering wine samplings, and Mount View Wines & Liquors will be bringing samplings of Calvary Brewery beer.

Local restaurants, such as Fascia Chocolates and Jesse Camille’s Restaurant will also be providing some food for the evening.

Connecticut Savor will be held Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. at the Naugatuck Historical Society, 195 Water St. Tickets are $10 per person and $5 for members of the Naugatuck Historical Society. Each guest will receive $5 off of their wine purchase made that evening. Tickets are available at the museum and at Mount View Wines and Liquors, 727 Rubber Ave., Naugatuck.
