NAUGATUCK — The Naugatuck Historical Society is hosting a two-part course on writing and getting a book published.

Author Ron Gagliardi, the first executive director of the Naugatuck Historical Society Museum and is a life member, will teach the course. The course will begin with a brainstorming session, discussion and “tool” to help aspiring writers create a catchy title along with an outline and timeline to guide writers.

Gagliardi’s first book, “Images of America: Cheshire,” was published in 2001. His second book, “Naugatuck Revisited,” was published in 2004. He has also written a column for the New Haven Register and articles for area magazines.

The course will run July 16 and July 23 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the museum, 195 Water St. The course is $25 for members and $30 for non-members. For more information or to register, call (203) 729-9039 or e-mail naugatuckhistory@sbcglobal.net.
