NAUGATUCK — The Ancient Order of Hibernians recently donated $175 to the Whittemore Library to purchase Irish-related material.

The donation was in honor of the 175th anniversary of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in New York City in 1836. John Wiehn, head of reference and adult programming at the library, bought six books and one book on CD to add to the library’s collection.

Among the books purchased are, “The Last Storyteller: A Novel of Ireland” by Frank Delaney and “Tracing Your Irish Ancestors: The Complete Guide” by John Grenham.

All of the items are now available to be borrowed and can be found in the library’s new books section.
