SEYMOUR — The Naugatuck Valley Health District will offer additional influenza vaccine clinics to residents of Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Derby, Naugatuck, Seymour and Shelton during the months of November and December.
This year’s flu vaccine, shot or nasal spray, is recommended for everyone 6 months old or older.
Clinics will be held at the following locations: Derby Public Library on Nov. 17 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.; Ansonia Public Library on Nov. 29 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.; Whittemore Library in Naugatuck on Dec. 5 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Huntington Branch Library in Shelton on Dec. 8 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.; Plumb Memorial Library in Shelton on Dec. 9 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. No appointments are necessary.
The flu vaccine will also be available by appointment during the district’s immunization clinics every Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. during the months of November and December at the district office in Seymour.
Preregistration is required for the district office clinics. Walk-in clinics will be held at the district office each Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. during the months of November and December. No appointments are necessary.
The Naugatuck Valley Health District office is located at 98 Bank St. in Seymour.
The Health District will accept Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Medicare Part B. Those who are eligible should bring the proper insurance cards. The cost of the flu vaccine for people with other forms of insurance is $25, payable by cash or check. Flu vaccine provided by the Vaccines for Children program is also available by appointment for uninsured children.
