Head-on crash injures four in Prospect

PROSPECT — Four people were injured in a head-on crash Sunday night on New Haven Road.

Police said a juvenile, whose name and age weren’t released, was driving a 2011 Ford Fusion SE north on New Haven Road at about 11:30 p.m. when the car swerved into the southbound lane and crashed head-on with a 2010 Honda Accord EX near the intersection of Talmadge Hill Road.

Police said the driver of the Honda, Shamari Evans, 23, of West Haven, and two passengers in the car, Ashely Alize Diaz, 21, and Eddy Valdez Jr., 20, suffered suspected serious injuries. They were taken to hospitals in Waterbury for treatment.

Police said the juvenile also suffered suspected serious injuries and was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital for treatment.

Both cars sustained heavy damage and were towed from the scene, police said.
