Grandfather, grandson arrested in drug investigation

NAUGATUCK — A Naugatuck grandfather and his grandson were arrested Wednesday for selling prescription medication.

According to a press release issued by the Naugatuck Police Department, Christopher Cretella, 21, of 35 Hill St. and his grandfather Franklin Rose, 67, of 66 Carroll St., were the subject of a drug investigation by agents out of the Drug Enforcement Agency’s New Haven office.

The pair is accused of selling Roxicodone, a pain medication. Naugatuck police assisted in arresting Cretella and Rose at Rose’s home on Carroll Street at about 11 a.m. yesterday.

Cretella was charged with possession of controlled substance, illegal sale of controlled substance, distribution of controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a school, conspiracy at possession of controlled substance, and conspiracy at distribution of controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a school and held on $200,000 bond.

Rose was charged with conspiracy at illegal sale of controlled substance and held on $100,000 bond.

Both men were scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court today.
