Golf tournament to raise money for James Jordan fund

NAUGATUCK — A golf tournament on May 9 at Hop Brook Golf Course will raise money for the James Jordan Memorial Fund.

Jordan, a Board of Education member and longtime community volunteer, died in February at age 46 from complications with a brain tumor.

The fee is $140 per person, which includes 18 holes of golf with a cart, player gift, barbecue lunch, dinner, music by the band Redline and family entertainment.

Registration will begin at 10:30 a.m. Lunch will be served at 11 a.m. Golf begins at noon.

Contests will include long drive, two closest to the pin holes, team prizes and a putting contest. There will be an awards dinner following golf along with fun-filled activities. The band plays from 6 to 10 p.m.

Anyone interested in attending for dinner and entertainment can do so for $30.

Those interested in golf must sign up by April 11. Dinner reservations are due May 2. Contact PGA Golf Professional Bob Clark at (203) 592-9362, or email, for information.

All proceeds go to the fund.
