BEACON FALLS — The Friends of Beacon Falls Library is holding its first ever “Paint-a-Duck” contest.

The registration fee for the contest is $10, which includes the small rubber duck kit. Contestants can decorate their rubber duck any way they see fit. A $25 cash prize will be awarded in two different age categories, 10 and under and 11 and over. All ducks must be returned to the library between Aug. 23 and Aug. 26. The ducks will be displayed in the library throughout the month of September when voting will take place.

The community can participate in the final judging of the top three ducks in both categories at the Friends’ booth at the Beacon Falls River Fest/Duck Race on Saturday, Oct. 1.
