NAUGATUCK — The ion Bank Foundation has awarded a $10,000 grant to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Waterbury  to help with its upcoming home build in the west end of Waterbury.

The new home build is slated for groundbreaking in spring. Since 2006, HFHGW has helped in Waterbury and the surrounding areas through “Home Builds,” which are sold to partner families at no profit and financed with no interest loans, and “Brushes with Kindness,” assistance provided to homeowners in need who are unable to maintain the exteriors of their homes.

“We are extremely grateful to the Ion Bank Foundation for selecting Habitat for Humanity as a recipient of one of their grants. With these funds, we are that much closer to the $100,000 needed in order to build our next home in the Waterbury area,” said Keith Weston, fundraising chair and member of the HFHGW Board of Directors.
