According to a press release issued by Connecticut State Police, Troop I in Bethany received a complaint from the teenager, 17, on March 14 regarding D’Amico. The teenager told police D’Amico attempted to kiss him, used inappropriate language and phrases towards him and attempted to make contact with his genital area, the release stated.

State police secured an arrest warrant for D’Amico, a longtime former Republican first selectman, Thursday after investigating the complaint, the release stated. D’Amico turned himself in Friday afternoon.

D’Amico, 80, of 57 Maple Ave., was charged with sexual assault in the fourth degree and public indecency. He was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and given a court date of June 24 to appear in Derby Superior Court.

Due to the nature of the charges and the age of the complainant few details were released and no further information was available as of this post.
