BEACON FALLS — The Parks and Recreation Commission is hosting the town’s annual fireworks celebration Saturday at the Beacon Falls Recreation Complex.

The celebration runs from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the complex, 100 Pent Road, and features vendors and live music. The fireworks show starts at dusk. Buses will run from the Beacon Falls firehouse, 35 North Main St., and Woodland Regional High School, 135 Back Rimmon Road, beginning at 6:30 p.m. to shuttle people to the complex.

The fireworks will culminate Family Day, which begins with the town’s annual Cardboard Boat Regatta. Cardboard boat crews will race on Carrington Pond at Matthies Park. The race kicks off at 10 a.m.

The annual canoe/kayak event will follow the regatta. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., people can bring their own canoe or kayak to ride on Carrington Pond or use one provided for them. The event is free for Beacon Falls residents and their guests.
