NAUGATUCK — Crews are working to restore power to more than 200 customers in the borough after gusty winds blew trees down onto power lines on Johnson Street.

Eversource Energy spokesman Mitch Gross said the company received the first report of a power outage at about 6:30 a.m. this morning.

The trees fell on Johnson Street near May Street, police said. Police urged drivers to avoid the area as crews clean up the trees.

Gross estimated that power will be restored by 2:15 p.m.
