Fair to highlight art colleges


BEACON FALLS — For high school students that may be interested in a career in the arts, Woodland Regional High School art teacher Christopher Misuraca wants them to know they have viable options to purse.

Misuraca is organizing a Fine Arts College Fair Night. The fair is Oct. 15 at Woodland, 135 Back Rimmon Road, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The event will feature representatives from art colleges who will talk will students and parents about available careers in the arts and what the colleges expect from students.

Misuraca expects about 10 colleges to send representatives to the event, including the University of Connecticut Fine Arts, Hartford Art School, Monserrat, Maine College of Art and Savannah College of Art and Design.

The Fine Arts College Fair Night is open to students from Woodland, Naugatuck, Amity, Cheshire, Oxford, Seymour, Sacred Heart and Holy Cross high schools.
