NAUGATUCK — All new residents need to file with the Assessor’s Office on or before Sept. 30 to be eligible for a veteran’s exemption on the 2015 grand list.
Veterans that have already filed the form or are currently receiving the exemption do not need to file again.
To be eligible for the exemption, a veteran must have served during war dates and other recognized military campaigns and operations.
Active military personnel or their family members can file for an exemption on a motor vehicle. Applications for this exemption must be signed by a commanding officer no later than Dec. 31.
