Downtown fight leads to arrest of borough man

NAUGATUCK — Police arrested a 19-year-old borough man Tuesday after they said he threatened a teenager with a knife and punched another teen during a fight in the area of Town Hall.

An officer was flagged down just before 5 p.m. and told of a fight in progress at the building on Church Street, according to police.

Anthony Trotta, of 18 Dunn Ave., was in a fight with several people under age 18, during which he threatened a 15-year-old with a folding knife and punched another 15-year-old, the youths told police.

Trotta was charged with breach of peace, risk of injury to a child, second-degree threatening and second-degree reckless endangerment. He was arraigned Wednesday in Waterbury Superior Court. According to the judicial records online, Trotta was released on a $20,000 bond and scheduled to appear in court again Nov. 13.
