NAUGATUCK — The section of Rubber Avenue between Arch Street and Andrew Avenue will be closed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. the rest of this week as The Connecticut Water Company works to replace part of a water main.
An alternate route is planned to detour traffic along Arch Street and Andrew Avenue.
The decision was made to close that section of the road during construction hours because the narrowness of the road was a safety concern for workers and motorists, The Connecticut Water Company stated in a press release.
The water company is replacing 4,000 feet of a water main, which was originally installed in the 1930’s, between Brookside Avenue and Meadow Street. The project is expected to be completed in early July.
