BEACON FALLS — A vacant building in the Pinesbridge Commerce Park will soon be filled.

Kolga LLC, which currently operates at 141 South Main St., has bought the building located at 65 Lancaster Drive, in the industrial park.

According to a press release issued by the R. Calabrese Agency the 20,000-sqaure-foot building on five plus acres of land was bought by Kolga Land, LLC, for $1,125,000.

Kolga is a full-service manufacturer of shield solutions for the nuclear medicine, x-ray and nuclear power industries. The release stated Kolga plans to be fully operational at its new facility in the first quarter of 2013.

The building at 65 Lancaster Drive had previously been owned by Metcalf Paving until 2011. In October 2009 Metcalf Paving filed for bankruptcy under Chapter 11. However, in February 2011, the company’s case was changed to Chapter 7 liquidation.

When it went under, Metcalf Paving owed approximately $18,000 in back taxes to the town.

According to the Tax Collector’s Office, a business named 65 Lancaster Drive, LLC moved in after Metcalf had vacated the building and paid the back taxes.

Economic Development Commission Chairman Jeremy Rodorigo was pleased to see Kolga owner Lee Nemeth purchase the property.

“To see this guy purchase property to expand his company is just great,” Rodorigo said.

Rodorigo said that the town still has about six lots in the industrial park that it hopes to fill.
