Sam Mason from Boy Scout Troop 138 in Naugatuck recently constructed a prayer garden and installed a flagpole at St. Vincent Ferrer Church in Naugatuck as his Eagle Scout project. The Seymour Mudcats 10U baseball team won the AABC State Championship July 9 versus Bunker Hill at Municipal Stadium in Waterbury. The team includes six players from Beacon Falls: RJ Barksdale, Will Brooks, Tyler Decrescenzo, Bryce Decrescenzo, Brett Lato and Colby Ruggerio. The team is heading to Rockford, Ill. on July 28 for the Willie Mays World Series. The team is raising money for the trip. The Celtics (17-0) won the Naugatuck YMCA’s Spring League basketball championship in June. The Celtics, coached by Glenn Petelle and Rob Wilkinson, beat the Knicks, 58-55, in the championship. The Celtics were led by Evan Petelle and Nick Linton with 16 and 12 points, respectively. The Knicks, coached by David Ranno, were led by Eli Gonzalez and Anthony Molina with 19 and 10 points, respectively.
