USA Martial Arts in Naugatuck held a junior beginners grading for ages 7 to 12 on May 21. Students demonstrated skills in sparring, forms, kicks, one-steps, board breaking, rolls and break falls. Boy Scout Nick Ryan of Troop 138 in Naugatuck recently completed his Eagle Scout project. Prospect resident John Daniel Dyckman, a graduate of Woodland Regional High School, was recognized during a reception for all military service academy appointees June 7 hosted by U.S. Sen. Woodland Regional High School hosted its annual Woodland Scholarship Awards Evening June 4. Over $63,000 in scholarships was awarded to 56 students. –CONTRIBUTED
The Beacon Falls Conservation Commission sponsored an event in celebration of CT Trails Day June 7 at Lantern Ridge, a 97-acre parcel of open space. The event included the presentation of a sign recognizing the stewardship and good work at Lantern Ridge by Girl Scout Troop 67821.
