Local students make Cheshire Academy Honor Roll
CHESHIRE — Emma Gawronski of Beacon Falls and Giovanni Gonzalez of Naugatuck received second honors at the Cheshire Academy in Cheshire. To make second honors, students must have a GPA of 3.33 and above.
Witkoski awarded competitive scholarship
WILLIMANTIC — Lindsay Witkoski of Naugatuck was one of approximately 300 Eastern Connecticut State University students to receive ECSU Foundation Competitive Scholarship for the 2012-13 academic year. The scholarship awards are based on merit and, in many cases, unmet financial need.
Danielczuk inducted into Cum Laude Society
WINDSOR — Michael Danielczuk of Enfield was recently inducted into the Cum Laude Society at the Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor. Danielczuk is the grandson of Dorothy Daniels and the late William Daniels of Naugatuck, and the son of John and Katherine Danielczuk.
Local students inducted into honor society
WEST HAVEN — Naugatuck residents Jonathan Creem, Kimberly Harman, Zachary Kyte, and Kelly Nelson were recently inducted into the University of New Haven’s Honor Society for experiential education. To be inducted, students must complete two of the following experiences: a faculty-mentored research project, an internship, an academic service learning project or a study abroad excursion. A student must also be ranked in the top 20 percent of his or her class.
Naugatuck students earn Latin award
WATERBURY — Naugatuck residents and Chase Collegiate School students Joseph DiSanto and Emma Korowotny earned honors on the 2011-12 National Latin Exam. DiSanto, a seventh-grader, received a Certificate of Achievement in the Introduction Level exam and Korowotny, a sophomore, earned Magna Cum Laude for the Level II Exam.
Naugatuck student receives Founders´ Scholarship
WATERBURY — Madison Jensen of Naugatuck, a student at Chase Collegiate School, was among this year’s recipients of the Founders´ Scholarship. Recipients are selected based on academic record, leadership experience, and participation in extracurricular programs and activities.
