NAUGATUCK — The Zoning Commission last month unanimously approved a special permit for a convenience store at 176 North Main St.

The property is owned by Vessel Nasufi, who also owns Vinny’s Pizza. Nasufi bought the property from the borough in February for $10,000. The borough originally acquired the property in August in lieu of back taxes.

There is a vacant building on the lot. According to the property card, the building is 848 square feet and the property is appraised at $76,500.

Nasufi said he expects to have the store open by late July.
