NAUGATUCK — A scheduled power outage Thursday at 11:30 p.m. will affect 686 residential and commercial customers, mostly on the borough’s west side, according to Connecticut Light & Power.

The outage should last no longer than four hours, or until 3:30 a.m. Friday, said Mitch Gross, spokesman for the utility company.

The outage is being scheduled so workers can safely upgrade equipment, Gross said. The goal is to complete the work and have power back on sooner than the projected time frame, Gross said.

The streets affected include Maple Street, May Street, Oak Street, Calvin Street, Coen Street, Bradley Street, Spruce Drive, Hillcrest Avenue, Auburn Street, Bingham Street, Hill Street Extension, Forest Street, Vine Street, Glenwood, Albion Street and McKinley Street.

Gross warned residents to reset their clocks Friday morning and be mindful that some digital alarm clocks might be reset.
