NAUGATUCK — St. Michael Church is hosting its 59th annual Village Green Fair this weekend.

“Generations of people have gone to that fair. There are adults that took the rides on that train and now have children that are taking rides on the train,” said Kara Euvino, the fair coordinator and a parishioner at the church. “It is a way to bring us all together.”

The fair, which takes place on the Naugatuck Green and at the church at 210 Church St., is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday. It will feature a variety of entertainment and vendors.

There will also be food, including the homemade peach shortcakes and the freshly made doughnuts the fair is known for.

The fair will also feature a bounce house, train rides and an obstacle course for children, a live band from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and acoustic music from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Euvino said. A DJ will play music during any time there isn’t live music, she said.

Euvino said the fair has been around for nearly six decades because the staff and church are committed to the fair and the community. She encouraged people to come to the fair to see what it has to offer.

“There is something for everyone. It is great for kids, it is a nice night out, and there is great entertainment,” Euvino said.
