CCF accepting requests for grants

WATERBURY — The Connecticut Community Foundation is accepting grant requests for its first round of funding for 2013.

The foundation serves greater Waterbury and northwest Connecticut by supporting public and nonprofit organizations. The foundation gives priority to efforts that prevent problems, encourage community solutions or improve the organizational capability and financial stability of nonprofit agencies.

Organizations interested in applying can review eligibility requirements and guidelines, and find the general grant application form available at each of the specific web pages listed below. The deadline to submit an application is Feb. 1.

Grants are currently available from the following funds established by area donors. Nonprofits may apply to multiple funds for support, if requests meet fund criteria:

•Program Fund: Grants to support programs and services; capital campaigns; equipment necessary for delivery of programs/services Visit www.conncf.org/program-grants.

•Capacity Building Fund: Grants and services to develop or strengthen the management capability of a nonprofit. Visit www.conncf.org/nai-grants.

•Early Childhood Education Fund: Grants and services to improve the quality of preschool education and support community planning to ensure kindergarten readiness. Visit www.conncf.org/litlinks.

•Saunders Fund: Grants to support organizations that provide care for the sick and infirm of Naugatuck. Visit www.conncf.org/saunders-fund.

•Senior Services Fund: Grants are provided to expand the capability of organizations to serve older adults, build core services, implement best practices, and conduct town conversations on aging. Visit www.conncf.org/seniors.
