PROSPECT — Prospect’s Resident State Trooper Office is partnering with the Naugatuck Police Department to combat a series of motor vehicle break-ins that have been scattered across the area in recent weeks.

Mayor Robert Chatfield issued a code yellow alert Tuesday night in response to a series of motor vehicle break-ins in Prospect.

Over the last two weeks, there have been at least 10 break-ins in which items of value were stolen, according to administrative Lt. Nelson Abarzua.

While the break-ins have not been concentrated in one particular area in town, Clark Hill Road and surrounding streets have been the hardest hit.

The Resident Trooper’s Office said targeted vehicles are left open and unlocked overnight. Police remind residents to always lock their vehicles and remove valuables.

Anyone with information regarding the break-ins is asked to contact the Resident State Trooper’s Office at (203) 758-6150.
