Why are you running for this position?

“In this very uncertain economic climate, my desire is to continue to fight for the interest of the taxpayers of this community while ensuring that core services continue to be provided to the highest standard possible.  As a mother, small business owner and resident of this wonderful community I will continue to provide, focused, fair and dedicated service with results, to the resident of this town.”

Have you held public office in the past? If so, what positions and when?

“I have served as Deputy Mayor form 2003 to the present.”

What experience makes you qualified for this position?

“Along with serving as Deputy Mayor, I have held numerous positions in borough government including liaison to the Naugatuck Senior Center/Elderly Commission, Economic Development Commission, Naugatuck Visiting Nurses Association, Business Merchants Association, Naugatuck Family and Youth Services, Garbage Subcommittee, Carriage House Board of Trustees Liaison and the Naugatuck Housing Authority. I have served as the founder and chairperson of Naugatuck TRIAD, chairperson of Long Term Planning Committee and chairperson for subcommittee for sale and development of Borough owned property off of New Haven Road. I am also a member or have served on many commissions including the Revaluation Committee, Five Year Capital Projects Committee, Police Commission: Dirtbike and ATV Subcommittee, School Readiness Committee, Building Practices Review Committee, Davis Auditorium Restoration Committee (“DARC”), Jesse Camille’s Sub Committee, HR Hiring Sub Committee and the Naugatuck Blight and Beatification Council.

If elected, what are your priorities and goals?

“My priority is to continue with the many projects and committees I serve on and to bring common sense to our borough government and ensure that the citizens of Naugatuck have a voice on the local level.  I will continue to work diligently to address concerns of our residents and pursue these tasks and projects to completion while representing the residents’ voices with focused leadership, dedication, respect and action.”
