Why are you running for this position?
“An efficient municipal government is essential to providing a community with the best basic services it can afford. Naugatuck needs elected officials who are sensible, willing to listen to all views and can work toward the common goals of our community. I have the knowledge and background to make efficient and common sense decisions. I think creatively using out of the box solutions, and I have the patient personality to listen to all sides while working together with other elected officials to bring about the best results for Naugatuck residents.”
Have you held public office in the past? If so, what position and when?
“In 2007 I was elected Mayor of Naugatuck. As Mayor I truly enjoyed my experience and considered it an honor and privilege serving the residents of Naugatuck.”
What experience makes you qualified for this position?
“As the former Mayor of Naugatuck I was responsible for overseeing all borough departments and addressing the needs of all residents. I worked closely with department heads to cut spending and deliver a budget with no tax increase in a time of economic downturn. As burgess, I will use that same fiscally conservative work ethic to keep our taxes as low as possible and continue to look for ways to add to our commercial and industrial tax base to decrease the tax burden from our residents.”
If elected, what are your priorities and goals?
“As burgess my priority will continue to address efficiency and accountability within our town government. In 2009, as Mayor I delivered a no tax increase budget to the residents of Naugatuck and I will continue to make it a priority to look for creative ways to cut spending and keep our taxes as low as possible. I will also support the newly elected Board of Education members in addressing an affordable, quality education for our children.”
