NAUGATUCK — Bronko Construction completed its first “Helping Heroes Project” on March 15 for a local U.S. Air Force veteran

The veteran, who asked to remain anonymous, served seven consecutive tours in Vietnam. The project consisted of replacing sink faucets in the bathroom and kitchen and unclogging the trap for the kitchen sink, according to a release issued by the company. The materials were sponsored by L.J. Wertalik, owner of Capstar Properties.

Bronko Construction launched the project in January as a way to help veterans with basic handy work around their home. One Saturday a month, Bronko Construction’s Helping Heroes Project team will volunteer their services at a preselected veteran’s home to complete minor repair work like patching walls, fixing leaky faucets, repairing trim, or fixing stuck doors free of charge.

Veterans must be the owner of the property and submit an application to the company to qualify for the work. For information on how to apply, visit BronkoConstruction.com. To request an application by mail or for more information, contact Seth Bronko at Seth@BronkoConstruction.com or call Bronko Construction’s office at (203) 723-0566. Anyone interested in donating material for the projects is asked to contact Bronko.
