NAUGATUCK — Naugatuck will collect leaves over three upcoming weeks.

Leaves will be collected on residents’ regular trash day, in 30-gallon paper bags, on the following weeks: Nov. 4 through Nov. 8; Nov. 18 through Nov. 22; Dec. 2 through Dec. 6.

Leaves, pine needles and other soft yard waste material are also accepted year round at the recycling center, which is open Thursdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., in 30 gallon paper bags only. No plastic bags can be used and no garbage can be mixed with the leaves.

Leaves, and grass clippings cannot be placed in the new automated carts, they cannot be mixed with the cans and bottles for recycling and cannot be placed in the trash. Home compost bins are available and are sold to Naugatuck residents at the recycling center.
