NAUGATUCK — The Public Works Department has announced its curbside leaf collection schedule.
Leaves will be collected in 30 gallon paper lawn and leaf bags during residents’ regular collection day during the weeks of Oct. 29 through Nov. 2; Nov. 12 through Nov. 16; Nov. 26 through Nov. 29.
Leaves, grass, straw, pine needles and other soft materials are accepted for this collection. Trash, cans and bottles, branches and brush, dirt, and rocks, are unacceptable in the leaf bags. Residents should not put bags of grass clippings, and leaves in their automated collection carts.
Paper leaf bags are also accepted at the Naugatuck Recycling Center. Leaves are not accepted in plastic bags. Home compost bins are available for purchase at the Recycling Center.
