The Naugatuck Parks and Recreation Department is planning a Forth of July celebration Monday at Naugatuck High School. The celebration will start at 6 p.m. with a D.J. and food booths. There will be a ceremony at the flag pole at 6:45 p.m. Ronald McDonald will entertain from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., followed by Pinkles the Clown will from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. The fireworks start at 9:15 or 9:20, depending on when it gets dark. The rain date for the event is July 5.

The Parks Department is still looking for donations to pay for the event, according to Recreation Director Kim Eyre. Even though the department has raised $3,000 for the event, Eyre said it is still several thousand dollars short. The town budget allocated $8,400 for the event.
