Borough stores fail compliance check

 CNLogo1NAUGATUCK — Four local liquor stores failed compliance checks Nov. 1, according to the state Department of Consumer Protection.

In a release, the department announced agents from the liquor control division, borough police and a youth volunteer tested 18 businesses for compliance. Cindy’s Grocery at 18 May St., Fulling Mills Deli and Grocery at 218 Prospect St., D & D Liquors at 143 Bridge St. and Cork & Keg at 430 Rubber Ave. sold to the minor, according to the department.

All four stores are being charged with selling liquor to a minor, according to the department. They can address the charges at a hearing before the Liquor Control Commission.
