Borough school system participating in food program

NAUGATUCK — The Naugatuck public school system announced it will be participating in the Seamless Summer Food Program.

The program, which runs July 2 to Aug. 17, provides meals to all children 18 years old and under free of charge. Meals will be provided from 11:30 a.m. to 12:35 p.m. during the duration of the program at the following sites: Hop Brook School, 75 Crown St.; Central Avenue School, 28 Central Ave.; Baummers Pond Park, 95 Mill St.; Legion Park, 2 Conrad St.; Andrew Avenue School, 140 Andrew Ave.; Cross Street School, 120 Cross St.; Salem School; 124 Meadow St.

Along with the program run by the school system, the Naugatuck Ecumenical Outreach Network is holding a free Summer Snack Program for children. The program will run July 2 to Aug. 17 from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. on the Town Green. Snacks will vary daily, but will usually be something like yogurt, fruit, and a drink.
