Borough police searching for armed robbery suspect

NAUGATUCK — Police are investigating a late night, armed robbery that occurred at the Naugatuck Motor Lodge.

According to a press release issued by police, officers responded to the Cross Street commuter parking lot at about 2:12 a.m. Thursday morning for a robbery complaint. The victim reported to police  earlier in the night he was parked in the lot at the motor lodge on New Haven Road when a man opened the passenger door and got into his car. The suspect pointed a handgun at the victim, police said, and told the victim to give him “everything he got.”

The man stole an undetermined amount of cash and the victim’s cell phone, police said. After the robbery, the man fled the scene in a green Honda Accord with tinted windows.

The suspect was described as a black male, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, and approximately 29 years old. The suspect was wearing a dark colored baseball hat, black sweatshirt, and black pants, police reported.
