Police investigating stabbing in borough

Police-badgeNAUGATUCK — A 34-year-old man is in stable condition after being stabbed during the early morning hours, according to police.

Police responded to the area of 202 Union City Road at about 2 a.m. Friday on a report of a man with stab wounds, Lt. Bryan Cammarata said in a press release. The victim was located in the home at 202 Union City Road and taken to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition Friday morning, the release stated.

Cammarata said in the release the preliminary investigation indicates the stabbing occurred during an altercation between two individuals at the home. The incident remains under investigation by Naugatuck police and officers from the Connecticut State Police Major Crimes unit. Officers were on the scene Friday morning. Police did not release any further details as of this post.

Cammarata said more information will be released as the investigation progresses.
