NAUGATUCK — A 43-year-old Naugatuck man was charged Feb. 18 with possession of child pornography following a nearly year-long investigation.

Police began their investigation into Donald Dubay, of 5 Highland Circle, Naugatuck, last February. Focusing on the Ares file sharing network, an investigator working with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force identified Dubay’s computer as possibly having child porn.

Dubay admitted in a police interview that he had downloaded child porn onto his computer, saying he also sought out videos involving animals.

Police say they discovered 16 videos that showed children, one as young as 3, either having sex with adults or exposing themselves. At least two of the children in the videos were identified as exploited or missing in a national database.

Dubay was held on a $10,000 bond after he was arraigned Feb. 19 in Waterbury Superior Court. He’s due back in court in March.
